Why does Kakashi wear a mask?! – Naruto

Kakashi is easily one of the favourite characters in the Naruto anime. He has proven that he is smart and powerful. But with all that he is mysterious too. Kakashi’s mask is one thing about him that’s very unique. Have you wondered what is the real reason behind his mask? We here list down all the theories about Kakashi and his mask. 

1- Making Kakashi Mysterious

Primary theory is that it was initially designed to add a layer of mystery around Kakshi. It’s mysterious and sexy. While he does do a great job of hiding his eyes, it also give that mysterious vibe to him. 

2- He carry a sign from his lineage from different Village

No, we are not saying that Kakashi is not from Konoha. He has been in Konoha since he was very young. Even as per his flashback episodes, he would be nearly six or seven at the youngest that we have seen. But if we are talk about Kakashi’s lineage, specifically that of his mother, we know nothing about. There is a possibility that his father fell in love with someone from different village. There is a possibility that Kakashi carries a sign from his lineage from a different village behind his mask. 

3- He was born with it

The idea of being born with a mask does not really sit well for a human world, but that might not be the case in the ninja world. There wasn’t any particular moment in the anime where Kakashi picks up his mask. Even in the flashbacks of his early years with his father and Rin, Kakashi is seen wearing that mask. So the idea that he was born with the mask is not really impossible. 

4- Kakashi is Ashamed

Kakashi’s father, as everyone knows, Sakuma was a legendary Shinobi. According to the information, his strength was compared to three legendary sannins. Once he was unable to complete a critical mission for Konoha. It completely destroyed his name and after these events; he started wearing the mask to hide the shame of being the son who broke the rules. You could say that this mask was helpful to him in the future because as he got older, he looked a lot like his father, and people could easily mistake him for his dad.

So, these are the reasons we believe that Kakashi wears his mask. While there is no way to know the definite reason, we can speculate why he would be wearing it.
