Uzumaki

Uzumaki is all set to change the horror and dark genre of anime forever. It is probably the most anticipated anime in this genre and from what we can say from the first look, be ready to witness something that has never been seen before. 

Uzumaki is set to be animated in a black and white color scheme adding another layer of creepiness to it. It is a collaboration project between Adult Swim and Production I.G. U.S.A. Uzuaki will be released on ‘Toonami’ on 28th September in the Japanese language at . Which will be followed by a release on ‘Max’ on 29th September. While it is bound to get dubbed in English and other languages, the potential date for their release is yet undecided.

Uzumaki is a work of creation by Junji Ito and an adaptation of his manga. It begins with a boy named Shuichi, who noticed some unusual activities with his father. He also has a love affair who goes by the name Kirie. The story follows the town named Kurusocho where people get obsessed with spirals and among them is also our protagonist’s father. Slowly and steadily these spirals starts becoming more and more visible from sewage water to even air, they start appearing everywhere.

Uzumaki picks up pace after the cremation of Shuichi’s dad’s cremation. The anime will take you through how a whole town can get possessed and what all can people do. It also takes you through the stages of possession where citizens go from being simply obsessed with spirals to destroying their houses for it.

There are multiple incidents in the story that will surely creep you up. If dark and horror is your genre, then Uzumaki is the one anime that you surely can’t miss.
