Should You Watch Re:Monster? (EXPLAINED 2024)

Re:monster is not a normal anime, it has a very unique plot and the character treatment is also very different. It might not be among the best animes that you have watched, but it surely do a lot of things decently. Re:Monster is a fun simple anime that you can watch to spend a carefree time. The story is paced in a journal section manner where the story goes day by day.

The Plot

Re:Monster is a story about a guy who gets stabbed in his previous life and then gets reincarnated as a goblin in a different world. He is working hard in this new world to evolve himself and build a village consisting of different species. He goes by the name of Gabrou in this world filled with monsters. The goblins have various purposes in the anime, out of them one is to kidnap the humans and reproduce with them to increase their kind. A lot of goblin woman also had kids with Gabrou.

What is bad in Re:Monster!

There isn’t much attention paid to the side characters and most of them feel like stereotypes or blank slate with nothing significant to say. None of the side characters in Re:Monster feels very interesting and fails to build any connection with the audience. The female characters fall in love with Gabrou out of nowhere and that does not make much sense in the story. Re:Monster had so much potential with what they could have done with their characters but it all goes down the drain.

Conclusion

None of the Re:Monster episodes are typically bad where you just wish for it to end, but then the anime is also not too interesting and makes you wonder what the hell is going on. A lot of time as an audience you feel that ‘it does not make sense’ and hope that it makes sense in the future but it fails to do so. None the less we would still recommend you to go through Re:Monster for a fun relaxing time.
