Everything We Know About Re:Zero Season 3

There’s plenty of excitement brewing as news of “Re:Zero Season 3” is just around the corner. Just as we did last year, let’s throw ourselves deep into the details and mysteries swirling around the third season of this beloved anime, considering what we officially know and what sneak peeks the leaks have offered us.

The Plot Thickens for Season 3

The leaks have revealed that the third season will cover arcs five and six. Much like the first season, the third season is set to adopt a significant chunk of the light novel—this time around, from volumes 16 to 25.

But will the third season also have to make those tough choices the first season did to fit 10 volumes worth of content into a 25-episode format? We can’t be sure, but one thing we do know from production leaks is that Re:Zero Season 3 will have an episode count of between 35 to 50 episodes.

Looking at Re:Zero Season 3: Production Insight

Observing the current production of Sangoku Yoko — another anime by Studio White Fox — can help us make some educated guesses about the potential production of Re:Zero Season 3.

The great utilization of freelancers and the high quality of Sangoku Yoko gives us hope for Re:Zero Season 3. Even though the creative team of Sangoku Yoko is not the same as Re:Zero, season 3 might likely also use external talent for creating priority episodes.

The third season of Re:Zero brings a significant change — a new director. Masahiro Shinohara will replace Masahiro Watanabe, who successfully directed both seasons 1 and 2. While Shinohara doesn’t have much credit as an overall series director, we might just get pleasantly surprised. After all, Orson Well’s Citizen Kane and Jordan Peele’s Get Out were both directorial debuts, and look how well they turned out!
